After my time in Hawaii, I went to college, a time where most people are struggling for money. But my income grew. Opportunities came seemingly out of “nowhere.” I was offered a high-end nannying job for an ultra-wealthy bond trader on Wall Street and his wife. They lived in a $20 million dollar home and paid me more than most full time accountants were making at the time, and I only worked nights and some weekends. They had heard about me from a prominent psychiatrist whose children I had been a “mother’s helper” for all throughout high school. That soon led to a full time summer position as a nanny for the children of a wealthy executive and his wife. I worked part time during the school year and full time during the summer at both jobs, and was making more money than people with graduate degrees. Most of my college friends were working too, but could barely afford to do anything fun. I had enough money to live off campus, take trips with my boyfriend to Paris and Italy, and never have to worry about expenses.

I knew that “working hard” doesn’t equal wealth.

I had seen too many people close to me who worked incredibly hard and often struggled to stay above water. And others who worked hard, but were rich. And the difference between the two is never what anyone thinks it is.

It Is Always Energy

Fast forward to law school, where after my second year I was offered a summer internship at the number one ranked law firm in the world. As a summer associate my paychecks were HUGE, and the partners I worked for loved my work. They asked me to work for them during my final year of law school, and I did. I was making so much money that I upgraded to a brand new apartment and leased a brand new car. And this was BEFORE I graduated. I would go on to have a VERY lucrative career on Wall Street for several years. Then 9/11 happened, and I was 8 months pregnant with my first child. I knew that was a sign from God for me to leave the city, and make the move to Hawaii. The place I had longed to live since I had been there all those years ago. So I quit my job. And guess what people said.

No one could understand how I could give up a huge income and fast track to partnership. No one could understand how I could up and leave my whole life and move 6000 miles away from everything I had worked for. But I trusted in God. My belief and my wealth frequency were unshakeable. And while I had money saved from investments, - it was definitely nowhere near enough to support my family for the long term. I knew that something would have to be done to make money again.

I moved to Hawaii with my husband and daughter and within 6 months I had landed a job in sales. I had never done sales before, but my first paycheck was over $50,000 for one month of commissions. I continued to have radical success in that business earning 7 figures and becoming the top salesperson in the industry. Once again, money had found its way to me IN SPADES.

Those early years in Hawaii were fun, but not easy. I had filed for divorce while making sure that I could support my family. My priority was my time with my daughter. Luckily I only worked on average 4-5 hours a day and was able to take 2 months vacation a year. I never worked weekends so I had tons of time to be with my daughter, go to the beach, take fun trips and enjoy life. But during that time, while I was focused on my daughter and my work, extreme debt began piling up as my ex-husband was trying to start various businesses. None of which got off the ground. I was the sole supporter.

Fast Forward to Bankruptcy.

I tried for years to pay down the debt. But it continued to grow due to interest and other events I was unaware of. After our divorce was final (which took years) my ex-husband filed for bankruptcy and was 100% cleared of all of the debt he had accumulated.

The full amount landed on my shoulders. I continued to try and pay it FOR YEARS. I was vehemently opposed to filing bankruptcy. But ultimately, I came to realize I couldn’t do it anymore. So I did something I never thought I would do and filed for bankruptcy. I thought I would get some relief. Ironically, my bankruptcy wasn’t approved (a long story for another day) but I didn’t even get a single dollar of debt wiped from my name. So my credit was destroyed and all of the debt was still on my shoulders.

Most People Would Have Given Up, But I Created a Multi-Million Dollar Empire Instead.

Instead of feeling defeated, lost and hopeless, I KNEW this was the jumping off point for me to FINALLY step into my TRUE PATH as a teacher in this lifetime. A path I had always known about since I was a child, but never felt quite “ready.” The Universe had tried to wake me up on 9/11 - and to some degree I did. But I was still not “ready” to embrace my path fully.

The (failed) bankruptcy would turn out to be the single best thing that ever happened to me. It was the BEGINNING. So with nothing but an iphone and a Facebook account, I started my first online business on July 4, 2012 - FREEDOM DAY - which is still THRIVING today. Within a couple of years the money was flowing like crazy and IT HAS NOT STOPPED! Three more businesses, Three International Schools, thousands of students in 90 countries, my own App, two podcasts and fourteen years later Here We Are!

The past 14 years have been such a magnificent journey. My work is ALIGNED with my soul…I no longer allow others to drain me to the point of radical depletion, and I get the privilege and honor to share my time-tested methods with amazing people like you.
